    I took the S7 S-Bahn from Berlin to Potsdam and it was very late. Does that qualify?

    The S7 S-Bahn from Berlin to Potsdam is about 36 km, which is below the 75 km minimum for EU rail compensation. S-Bahn and short regional journeys under 75 km are not covered by EU Regulation 2021/782.

    I was visiting Sanssouci and came by regional train from a city further away. My journey was over 100 km and I was delayed 80 minutes. Can I claim?

    Yes. Tourist or leisure travel is treated the same as any other rail journey. If your journey was over 75 km and you arrived 80 minutes late at your ticketed destination, you qualify for 25% of the ticket price back.

    Does it matter that Potsdam is not in Berlin but in the state of Brandenburg?
